A mirage ? A film in Technicolor ? A real sensation, that’s for sure... ! Kilometres of gold and blood-red cliffs, reminiscent of Colorado, quarries in the canyons, layers of sand throughout the hills in Roussillon, wide strips of colour through to Rustrel and  Gignac, forming a veritable labyrinth of colour.

The OCHRE PATH IN Roussillon

The geological curiosity of the ochre sands, the quarries and the cliffs has made Roussillon one of the best know sites in the Luberon.
Here you can stroll through the hills, following the multi-hued labyrinth and learning about the formation and use of these famous quarries from the information signs along the way. This is a very fragile environment – recommended outside of the heat of summer. Avoid light colour clothing and shoes.
