Cheval Passion
January in Avignon
The “Passion for Horses” Festival takes place at the
Avignon Exhibition Center and attracts more than
100,000 visitors each year. Golden mane galas,
competitions, educational events, horse breeding
shows, equestrian cabarets, etc. This festival is the
second biggest event in Avignon after the
International Theater Festival, thereby proving its
leading position on the European equestrian scene
along with Essen in Germany and La Fiera Cavalli
de Verone in Italy.

Les Hivernales de la danse
February in Avignon
The contemporary dance festival is coming up to its
30th birthday. As well as shows illustrating the vitality
of the new dance scene in Europe, the Hivernales
Dance Festival also hosts training courses for
beginners, amateurs and professionals, not to
mention a series of films, interviews and exhibitions.
