Mountain Biking safety charter

• I wear a helmet
• I control my speed in all circumstances
• I respect nature and private property
• I remain courteous with other users and I am discreet
• I ride only on marked paths which are open to the public
• I check the weather conditions before going into the mountains
• I do not ride through the brush or replanted areas
• I check out any difficulties and the length of the itinerary ahead of time
• I pass hikers and horseback riders carefully – they always have right of way
• I abide by the Code de la Route (Highway code) when back on roads
• I inform someone of my itinerary and I never ride alone
• I take a repair kit, a first aid kit and a detailed map with me
